Claims and Recoveries under Damage and Breakdown Extended Warranty Programs

Extended Warranty Programs for Manufacturers and Distributors of Machinery, Plant and Equipment

Claim Procedure

Please read the following procedure before submitting your claim

If you are a Manufacturer or Distributor, the claim form is available here.

If you are an End User, the claim form is available here

What you must do

Under the conditions of the Extended Warranty the End User must ensure that throughout the ownership of the Machinery or Plant or Equipment that there are preventative maintenance procedures in place as agreed with the Manufacturer or Machinery Supplier.

The End User must ensure that only trained operators use the machine.

The End User must ensure that the Machine is properly maintained in accordance with the recommended servicing procedure at intervals prescribed by the Manufacturer in the Machine's operating manual. Only authentic manufacturer's parts or after market parts can be used on the machine.

The End User must notify the Machinery Supplier immediately of any defect or damage likely to give rise to a claim and stop using the Machine.

Failure to submit a claims form within 30 days of the breakdown may result in your claim being denied.

The End User must take precautions to prevent further damage to the Machine following the breakdown.

The End User must retain broken parts for a minimum of 90 days and, if asked, send them for inspection as directed.

What CNC Claims Management will do

CNC Claims Management will manage all claims:

  • Under Machine Tools, Printing Equipment and Industrial Machinery Warranties:

For new machines, in respect of Breakdown beginning at the expiry of the Manufacturer's warranty period and in respect of damage caused by Operator Error 14 days from the date the Machine was handed over to the End User by the Machinery Supplier.

For second user Machines or those already installed and past the Manufacturer's warranty period, beginning from 60 days after the Extended Warranty begins. Operator Error damage begins 14 days after the date the Warranty begins. In agreed cases, after a satisfactory inspection of the machinery, the warranty may begin earlier.

For new and used machines under the Periodic Finance Repayment Protection and under the Hiring of Alternative Equipment, beginning 14 days after the breakdown.

  • Under Plant, Equipment and Engine Warranties:

For new machines, beginning at the expiry of the Manufacturer's warranty period.

For second user Machines or those already in use and past the Manufacturer's warranty period, beginning from 14 days after the Warranty starts.

Paying for the cost of the breakdown.

In the event that the Warranty states that a contribution is to be made by the End User in respect of the breakdown, the End User is liable for this amount. This is sometimes called an excess or deductible.

Under Manufacturer and Distributor and Servicing Company warranty programs, the payment on agreed breakdown claims will be made to them.
